Eric Sundermann has been appointed head of content at The Fader, the company announced Monday (Dec. 3), becoming the first person to hold that role. He will report to Andy Cohn, the company's president and publisher.
In the newly-created position, Sundermann will help oversee content across The Fader's various extensions, including print, digital, social, events, film and TV projects, branded content, The Fader Shop and more. He will also work to widen Fader's audience through exploring new opportunities.
"The Fader has always been focused on the quality of our editorial content and storytelling — not just documenting culture, but creating it,” Cohn said in a statement. "Joining as head of content, Eric will focus on continuing to elevate the quality of The Fader’s output, ensuring that we’re bringing all the right creative minds together across the entire company and developing a network of top tier talent from all around the world. His efforts will expand The Fader’s voice, putting us in the best position to grow our audience and evolve in very dynamic landscape."
Before joining Fader, Sundermann spent more than five years at Vice's music vertical, Noisey, rising to editor-in-chief in November 2015. In the past, he has written for The Village Voice, New York Magazine, Complex, Spin and Rolling Stone, among others.
