Love Island host Caroline Flack appears to lend her support to dumped contestant Joe by liking anti-producer statement claiming show was ‘unfairly’ edited

Joe Garratt’s fledgling romance with Lucie Donlan ground to a halt when he was dumped from the Love Island villa on Tuesday night following the first public vote.
Unbeknownst to the sandwich delivery man, 300 complaints were submitted to TV watchdog Ofcom this week regarding his ‘controlling’ behaviour after he told partner Lucie he wished she would change, warned her not to speak to boxer Tommy Fury alone and asked her to spend more time with the other girls, despite her repeatedly saying she wasn’t a ‘girly girl’.
As Joe’s friends lamented his early exit and expressed their concerns the footage had been ‘unfairly’ edited to portray him in a certain light, Love Island host Caroline appeared to throw her support behind the claims by ‘liking’ the social media post.

Uploading a picture of Joe and Lucie to Instagram, Joe’s loved ones reflected: ‘After that nailbiting vote, Joe has unfortunately left the Love Island villa♥️
‘We want to thank all of Joe’s followers for their endless support. We also want to wish the remaining islanders the best of luck in the rest of the programme, especially @lucierosedonlan who Joe genuinely cares for and enjoyed his time with.
‘Speaking on behalf of Joe’s best friends, we acknowledge Joe will come out to some warranted criticism. However, we deem the majority of it to be unfair and non representative of Joe’s true character.

‘The producers have the ability to show someone in a particular light, choosing just 45 mins of footage from 24 hours to tell a certain narrative.
‘Joe will know he is coming home to the best family and group of friends about. We are all buzzing to see our boy. But from #thesandwichman…. that’s a wrap ♥️’.

A Love Island spokesperson denied the claims footage was edited unfairly, saying: ‘What airs on Love Island is a fair and accurate representation of what happens in the villa.’
Joe was devastated when his time in the Mallorcan villa was cut short, leaving alongside newcomer Elma Pazar on the latest episode.
Tough times: In heart-wrenching scenes from Wednesday’s show, the sobbing blonde questioned whether she should leave the show to be reunited with her partner
Making a solemn promise to Lucie, Joe said: ‘I found you and you’re an absolute dream. I promise you I’ll literally be waiting for you outside. Give me a kiss.’
Lucie was left in tears by Joe’s shock exit and said she was ‘gutted’ to now be in the villa by herself, shortly before contemplating her departure. ‘I’m just gutted,’ she said. ‘Because you could clearly see me and Joe and feelings for each other.’
The surfer was uncontrollably upset following her love’s departure so she sought comfort from her pal Anton.

She asked the camera: ‘If he was in my position, what would he do? Would he come with me or would he stay?’
Trust issues: He told her: ‘I kind of let other peoples’ opinions get to me. ‘I know I never should have and I completely regret ever doubting you. I trust you, I trust him and I trust us’
The timing of the vote was unfortunate since Joe had just apologised to Lucie.
This came a day after he said about her friendship with Tommy: ‘I’m not happy with it. It’s strange. I think it’s time for you to get close with the girls.’
He was accused of ‘gaslighting’ the surfer by some viewers because he previously flirted with the other female contestants to make her jealous and has gone to great lengths to put off rival Tommy.
During his grovelling apology, he told her: ‘I kind of let other people’s opinions with the whole you and Tommy thing get to me…
‘I know I never should have and I completely regret ever doubting you. I trust you, I trust him and I trust us.
He added: ‘I know you get on with guys and I’m completely fine with that. I never thought at this stage I would have feelings for a girl as I do with you. ‘I have definitely fallen for you.’ Lucie replied: I feel the same.’
Complaints: It comes after Joe was accused of ‘gaslighting’ the 21-year-old by some viewers.
